The position responds to issues directly, through facilitating meetings and/or by coordinating services with outside parties such as Child Protective Services (CPS), the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), and other community-based organizations.

- Maintains caseload of students/families referrals for multifaceted student and family issues and provides immediate support;
- Provides brief assessments to develop an action plan with students and families;
- Facilitates family intervention meetings with families in crisis or with multi-dimensional needs;
- Serves as point-of-contact for teachers, counselors and administration for families in crisis; follows up with families by phone or in person, coordinating with external agencies (e.g. Department of Family & Children Services, Department of Juvenile Justice, community service agencies.) as needed;
- Facilitates character education programming and other trainings for the faculty and greater school community, as needed.
- Maintains an active role and awareness of current community resources within school boundaries, through attending meetings and/or networking events.
- Home or community visits as needed

- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field of study AND
- Three (3) years of advising, teaching, or student counseling experience AND
- Two (2) years of documented social work field experience AND
- Two (2) years of related experience providing support services for assigned school aged children AND
- Proven experience in effecting positive change in an educational setting OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Licensed Social Worker – LMSW
- GA PSC Social Worker Certification
- desired GA PSC School Counseling License/Certificate
- desired GA PSC Teaching/Educational Certificate
- Clear Fingerprint/Background Check Required.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, District and other applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures related to assigned activities and applicable duties
- Must be able to manage large volumes of paperwork and maintain adequate records
- Proficient knowledge of computers, online curriculums/tools, and various operating systems.
- Proficiency using computer-based software and online resources to develop training materials
- Ability to create and deliver staff development
- Ability to communicate well with school personnel, parents, students, and cabinet office staff while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies
- Persistent and a positive outlook

- Prior educational experience in Teaching, Counseling, Advising, Intervention, Social Work, or related fields
- GA PSC School Counseling License/Certificate
- GA PSC Teaching/Educational Certificate
- TKES/LKES credentialed
- Previous experience as a Learning Coach, Advisor, or Teacher at Georgia Cyber Academy
- Previous experience as an online educator or academic administrator
- Knowledge of the SCSC Comprehensive Performance Framework
- Knowledge of GaDOE CCRPI
- Previous experience with online educational tools/curriculum/assessments
- Working knowledge of Naviance
- Working knowledge of Infinite Campus (SIS)
- Working knowledge of Canvas (LMS)
- Working knowledge of Jigsaw Interactive (live classroom tool)
- Proficient in use of Zoom conferencing tool
- Bi-lingual
- This is primarily a Monday through Friday, 8am to 4 pm, 5 days/week, home-based position that may require traveling up to 25% of the time.
- During critical periods, in-office days may be required. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
- In-person attendance at professional development, training, conferences, job fairs, meetings, school events, marketing events, and testing sites will be required several times per year.
- Light lifting required.
