About Us – Why Fowlerville Community Schools

Fowlerville Community Schools is a public school district that serves roughly 2,500 students in grades PK-12. The district is committed to providing a quality educational experience for all students in a safe, orderly, healthy, and nurturing environment.

Fowlerville Community Schools is within the Village of Fowlerville in Livingston County, one of the fastest growing counties in Michigan and only a short drive to Ingham County. Fowlerville is a historic, charming, and growing community that offers a variety of amenities and attractions for residents and visitors alike.

In November 2021, district voters approved a bond proposal that will fund the construction of a new K-2 building that’s set to open during the 2024-2025 school year. The new 72,000 square-foot elementary school, part of this $41.9 million bond issue, will feature 24 classrooms, along with rooms for special education, art, science, and music, and intervention spaces for individualized instruction. A gymnasium, cafeteria, media center, and administrative offices will also be included in the facility. The cost of the new school building is estimated at $29 million. Other major components of the bond include HVAC renovations across the district, the renovation of the Smith Elementary building for use as an early childhood center, and the demolition of the Munn building.
