Support the District’s K-6 instructional intervention program to ensure academic improvement and student success. Provide high-level literacy and/or math learning experiences to struggling students in Tier III intervention. Provide students with appropriate intervention activities in RLA and/or Math to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university; Master’s Degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
Valid Science of Teaching Reading Certification (Reading Academy)
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills
Thorough understanding of RLA and Math TEKS, State Assessments, MTSS, and school operations
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction with specific knowledge of RLA and Math instruction
Working knowledge of research-based, effective practices for working with students who struggle in reading and/or math
Ability to review student assessment data to plan and evaluate intervention activities
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a classroom teacher
