Elementary Assistant Principal

Macon R-1 Elementary School is looking for a certified Elementary Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year.

Major Policy Responsibility

The Assistant Elementary School Principal assists the building principal on accountability for the educational, administrative, and supervisory functions in the school building. The assistant principal communicates and enforces directives and policies approved by the Board of Education and Central Office to the building personnel, as delegated by the principal.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
  • Elementary School Principal certification.
  • Effective leadership skills and experiences.
  • Proven background in instruction, assessment and professional development.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists Elementary School Principal in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate.
  • Assists Elementary School Principal in establishing guides for proper student conduct and maintaining student discipline.
  • Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary according to due process rights of the students.
  • Assumes responsibility for disciplinary actions and maintains records of any action taken.
  • Supervises students in the daily use of the cafeteria, hallways, and school grounds.
  • Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board Policies and regulations with regard to student management.
  • Maintains active relationships with students, parents, and the community.
  • Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on progress, attendance, and discipline records of students.
  • Regularly monitors student attendance reports and coordinates parent communication regarding attendance.
  • Attends special events held to recognize student achievement and attends school sponsored activities, functions, and events.
  • Assumes responsibility for his/her professional growth and development.
  • Serves as a member of committees and attends such meetings as directed by the Superintendent.
  • Assists in the evaluation of instructional and non-instructional staff members.
  • Serves as the principal in the absence of the building principal.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

Terms Of Employment

Ten month contract. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
