The EP nurses at M Physicians coordinate care for patients with cardiac arrhythmias and/or devices and test devices including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD).
Our Electrophysiology department is dedicated in providing cutting-edge care and innovative treatments for patients with heart rhythm disorders. As a leader in the field, we are committed to excellence in clinical care, research, and education. We are at the forefront of innovation, offering the latest in electrophysiological procedures and therapies. Our services include catheter ablation, implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy. What You Will Do As An Electrophysiology Nurse Specialist
Provides pre and post procedural patient care, including: Patient assessments, coordination of information, discharge evaluation, discharge teaching and follow-up care
Conducts daily rounds on inpatients followed by EP service, communicating patient progress to physicians, participating in clinical decisions for electrophysiology patients with EP or house staff
Acts as liaison between electrophysiology team, ward team, nursing staff, cath lab staff and cardiovascular clinic staff
Conducts cardiac pacemaker, ICD and loop recorder device testing and troubleshooting for inpatients
Facilitates trans-telephonic pacemaker follow up and remote ICD follow-up
Maintains medical records regarding cardiac devices
Manages cardiac arrhythmia patient calls
Conducts cardiac device clinic including cardiovascular nursing assessment and assessment of cardiac devices
Provides in-service education to nursing and allied professional staff
What You Will Need
Licensed RN in the state of MN
ACLS and BLS Certified
3 years of nursing experience within cardiovascular nursing and at least 1 year of cardiac device experience
Good communication and prioritization skills
Preferred
Expertise in the management of ICD patients
Trained in testing of cardiac pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators and implantable loop recorders
