We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to oversee all production process activities. This role includes the generation and management of production scheduling, allocation of production resources, supervision of parts acquisition to meet production schedules, inventory management, quality control, and ensuring ISO 9000 compliance. The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory/managerial experience in electronics contract manufacturing, with familiarity with circuit board assembly processes using SMT and through-hole components.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production Scheduling: Generate and manage production schedules.
  • Resource Management: Manage and allocate production resources.
  • Parts Acquisition: Oversee parts acquisition activities to coordinate with production schedules.
  • Coordination: Ensure that production activities are performed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Cost Efficiency: Optimize production activities for cost efficiency.
  • Equipment Management: Coordinate the operation, maintenance, and acquisition of production equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Manage product inventory levels to meet anticipated demand.
  • Quality Control: Oversee quality control within all production processes.
  • Issue Resolution: Monitor production processes and resolve delivery and scheduling issues with other departments and customers.
  • Customer Updates: Participate in customer status update meetings and conference calls.
  • Management Meetings: Participate in regular management meetings to coordinate production activities with other departments.
  • Training: Identify training needs and conduct training sessions for production personnel.
  • ISO 9000 Compliance: Responsible for compliance activities within production processes.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide production input for quote generation.
  • Coordinate and interact with engineering and sales departments.
  • Participate in customer and prospective customer meetings.
  • Participate as a QMS team member.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • General operational and management skills.
  • Working knowledge of equipment used for the manufacturing of electronic products.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment.
  • Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required.
  • Regular hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM M-F.
  • This is a management/salary role with significant responsibility.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Looking for someone with strong critical thinking skills who can evaluate options and determine the best possible course of action.
  • Needs to be able to take general directions and work out the details.
  • This position supervises and directs all production personnel.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience with circuit board assembly processes and equipment such as SMT, through-hole components, pick and place machines, reflow ovens, and screen printers.
  • Open to temp-to-perm or direct hire based on candidate preference.
