SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a global manufacturing company seeking an experienced Electro – Mechanical Engineer Tech to join their facility in Hillsboro, OR. This company offers services and manufactures technology that supports the scientific industry. This position is a contract with an expected duration of 6 months.

Primary Function:
The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Tech is responsible for assembling, bench testing, troubleshooting, and improving prototype precision robotic handling systems, integrating these subsystems into highly customized automated electron microscopes, and assisting in the transition of these processes to production suppliers and internal operations teams.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Assemble, bench test, troubleshoot and improve prototype precision robotic handling systems with single digit micron level accuracy.
Integrate these subsystems into highly customized, automated, multi-million dollar electron microscopes.
Assist transition of assembly and testing of these subsystems to production suppliers
Assist transition of integration and validation of these subsystems to the internal Operations team.
Work closely with, and learn from, world class Project Management, Operations, and engineers and scientists of diverse backgrounds
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
5+ years of relevant experience assembling, testing, integrating, and troubleshooting complex, precision mechatronic systems including mechanical, electrical, SW and FW
Demonstrated working knowledge of: precision measurement equipment such as LVDT and confocal sensors, instrument calibration, fine mechanical adjustments, and creation of documentation for production such as work instructions and troubleshooting guides.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical data and schematics
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Work Environment:
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
