We are looking for a Project Engineer specializing in Substations. These projects encompass Substations (Air Insulated and Gas Insulated Switchgear), Data Centers, and electrification endeavors. As a member of our engineering team, you will collaborate across the project lifecycle, preparing and reviewing detailed engineering documentation for bidding, procurement, design, construction, and commissioning.

Estimated Duration: 6 months with potential to go full time
Must be open to travelling up to 35% to sites and company headquarters
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate FACTS substation projects from initial design through commissioning and handover.
Lead a diverse project engineering team in developing physical, protection, and civil engineering packages for substation EPC projects.
Ensure project engineering deliverables align with contract scope and schedule; communicate any design-related risks to the project manager.
Act as the primary technical contact for EPC substation projects, managing all technical aspects including construction and procurement.
Review customer request for proposal documents, identifying necessary exceptions, deviations, or clarifications.
Develop scope of work and Work Break-down Structure (WBS) documents, along with high-level engineering execution plans.
Manage interfaces with various stakeholders including customers, Siemens Energy teams, engineering contractors, suppliers, and site contractors.
Monitor and report project engineering progress, implementing mitigation and corrective actions in collaboration with project management.
Conduct technical due diligence and review supplier quotes for equipment and engineering services.
Attend site visits during the Request for Proposal phase to gather information, and during project phases to support construction and commissioning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience in substation projects; higher experience levels considered for senior positions.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Prior experience in Engineering Design for utility power projects preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Familiarity with ANSI and IEC standards.
