The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, testing, inspecting, and maintaining systems to ensure equipment is in proper working condition. The incumbent will also work in other maintenance and production areas. This is a non-exempt position that works 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, on the first shift. Overtime may be necessary but is not mandatory.

General Requirements
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, testing, inspecting, and maintaining systems to ensure equipment is in proper working condition. The incumbent will also work in other maintenance and production areas. This is a non-exempt position that works 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, on the first shift. Overtime may be necessary but is not mandatory.
Key Duties Include But Not Limited To The Following
- Inspect, maintain repair and overhaul electromechanical and solid-state electrical equipment, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment.
- Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards.
- Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for Project facilities and equipment.
- Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.
- Work safely and cooperatively with co-workers and the public.
- Lead a work group in performing maintenance or repair work.
- Other related incidental work as needed.
- Comply with and practice proper equipment clearance procedures.
- Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment regulations.
- Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy.
General Requirements
- Principles of electronic theory as applied to electrical and electronic circuits, wiring and electrical equipment used in power generation. Theory of operation and use of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) units and other computer- based equipment.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
- Work from blueprints, shop drawings and sketches.
- Install and troubleshoot PLC based equipment. Capable of following work instructions for specific job functions.
- Basic math skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a vocational education program in electrical or industrial electrical or industrial training –OR- completion of a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship Program and experience as an electrician in the industrial maintenance field.
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
- Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
- Must pass Department of Homeland Security background check and pre-placement physical (including respirator) and pre-employment drug-screen.
- Requires climbing, standing, bending and lifting heavy objects in awkward and confined spaces using proper lifting and rigging techniques.
- Speaking & Hearing: Interact with all plant groups as well as the plants environmental consultants.
- Seeing: Must be able to read and follow written instructions.
- Subject to exposure of fumes, dust and high levels of vibration.
- Subject to exposure of high noise levels required ear protection.
- Subject to working near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment where the use of appropriate protective/safety equipment is required.
- Subject to working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
- Work includes indoor and outdoor environment.
- May be subject to after duty call-ins including weekends.
