Job Summary
The Electrical and Instrumentation Project Manager position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of instrumentation bid projects from inception to completion. This includes estimating, project coordination, material take-off lists, personnel recruitment, quality assurance, budgeting, scheduling, and other duties integral to effective project management. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Estimate accurate and thorough costs for instrumentation projects
Coordination of all aspects of a project from procurement, subcontracting, and scheduling within project specifications and timelines
Ensure compliance for all projects
Develop comprehensive material take-off lists based on project requirements, ensuring all necessary materials are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner
Recruit, train, and manage project personnel, including technicians
Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure that all instrumentation work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations. Must be able to pull required permits and meet with inspectors for projects that require permitting
Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure adherence to financial constraints
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure smooth project execution
Project, people, and planning management of assigned projects using project software to manage deadlines and critical activities of projects
Serve as the primary contact for client communication, provide regular updates on progress
Manage concerns and issues and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, change orders, and other relevant records, in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Develop proposal from bid walk or client-provided RFP documents
Manage assigned projects for accuracy and monitor project health reporting metrics to the Business Unit Manager
Develop and mentor electricians and instrument techs
Assist in developing a skills and knowledge assessment
Perform service calls at client’s sites as necessary including offshore GOM, Alaska, etc
Develop standard operating procedures for tasks
Commit to building EG safety culture and fostering continuous improvement
Ensure timely submission of timesheets, expenses, and daily job ticket
Requirements
5 years of experience
25% travel
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Willing and able to travel to client sites as needed
Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening
Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available
Stable work history
Additional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
Louisiana/Texas Masters Electrician license is required
PMP or similar project management certification (preferred)
Proven experience in project management within the industrial electric or instrumentation industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role
Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation systems, equipment, and installation methods
Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent
Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards (e.g., NEC, API, ANSI, ISA).
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to comply with client site requirements

Some travel required, may have to drive/travel for extended periods
Ability to lift heavy objects, up to but not limited to fifty pounds
