Title: Electrical Engineer (Knoxville-Nashville-Chattanooga)

Job Summary: Echo Power has an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for career growth and new opportunities in Power Engineering. This position consists of various duties and responsibilities in medium/high voltage substations and power plants throughout Tennessee. This position requires regular onsite work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day electrician support in substations and power plants.
  • Develop all required isolation, restoration, and commissioning work plans.
  • Perform commissioning and functional testing for protection and control equipment and circuits in a substation or power plant.


Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong working knowledge of substation and power plant equipment, metering and controls, instrument transformer circuits, relays and relay logic is required.
  • Experience installing and commissioning all types of equipment in HV/MV substations.
  • Must be a self-motivated engineer who is equally comfortable in the field or at a computer.
  • Individual must possess strong communication skills and have the ability to work day-to-day with IBEW electricians.
  • Must be able to be onsite at least 50% of the time with most weekends at home.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • 3+ years recent and relevant experience with substation electrical design/installation/commissioning.
  • Non-degreed technicians with 10+ years recent and relevant experience with substation electrical design/installation/commissioning may also be considered.


Job Location: Our office is headquartered in Tennessee, but this is a hybrid position with a considerable amount of work being conducted in the field and some work conducted from home. Candidate should live in Tennessee, within 100 miles of the Nashville, Chattanooga, or Knoxville areas. Relocation assistance may be provided to candidates located outside of Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Salary: $93,000 – $141,000 annually (based on education and experience)
  • Annual bonus up to 25% of base salary
