Title: Electrical Engineer

Duration: Long-term vendor

Location: Redmond, WA

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week

Role

• Work closely with ME, Opto-ME, Thermal, Optical engineers, FW/SW engineers, and the safety team to design AR/VR display systems, and do system integration work.
• Author system/subsystem requirements/specification, document design files, test criteria/plan for system and modules, review and approve vendor design proposal, document test methodology, component qualification criteria, and support system validation.
• Failure analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem-solving.
• In charge of system design, component selection, evaluation, schematic capture, working with layout team to conduct/review layout, follow up on PCB and PCBA manufacturing, performing board/subsystem/system bring up, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  
  
  

Skills

• MS degree plus 5+ years of work experience, or 8+ years working experience with a BS degree, in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field or industry work experience.
• Experience on board level DC/DC switching power supply design/layout, thermal considerations
• Experience with various high-speed serial display electrical interface standards including MIPI, I2C, and SPI.
• Experience in high-frequency circuit design, including differential pair layout, and measurement.
• Experience with PCB and flex PCB design.
• Experience doing bench soldering.
• Experience using the bench power supply, oscilloscope, signal generator, and multimeter.
• Experience with Altium or Cadence schematic capture or layout review tool, prefer Altium.
• Experience with EMI EE/system risk mitigation strategy and techniques.
• Experience with mix signal design, including MCU and FPGA
• Experience with cross-functional teamwork with a willingness to drive results.
• Strong ownership
• Experience working with ME, Thermal, FW/SW engineers.

• Display or Camera system design experience.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Experience with MCU programming.
• Experience with FMEA.
• Experience designing high power LED drivers.
• Experience working with DMD.
• Experience working with LCD, and LCOS display.

Education: BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field or industry work experience.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range $75/hr - $85/hr.
