Role Description

This is a contract role for an Electrical Designer. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to electrical design, electricity, electrical engineering, power distribution, and power systems.

Qualifications

• Electrical Design, Electricity, and Electrical Engineering skills
• Ability to generate one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and physical layout drawings (lighting, grounding, electrical area classification plans) with minimal supervisory instruction.
• Work with Engineers and Designers to prepare project deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Competent with P&IDs, electrical & instrumentation drawings from a set of redlines using company/client drafting guidelines.
• Populate various document lists as directed by Designers
• AutoCAD tasks - 3D Modeling, Electrical One Lines, Lighting and Power Plan Drawings, and PLC and Junction Box Details and Wiring Diagrams
• Tracks details of work to discuss with supervisor
• Develops and improves technical knowledge and skills
• Maintains professionalism in relationships with other office and team members
• Constructively builds and maintains relationships with others on the project design team
• Travel required when requested
• Makes site visits to observe during construction and operation
• High school diploma and post-secondary training is preferred.
• Community College or Trade School certificate, electrical drafting focus preferred
• 4-10 years’ experience. Oil and Gas and other Process Control, Manufacturing or Fabrication Industries experience required.
• AutoCAD & 3D Design experience required
• CADWorx a plus
• Proficient in MS Office Suite such as Word and Excel
• Solid experience in design, drafting, and 3D modeling.
