Location: Raleigh, NC preferred, remote candidates considered with monthly travel to Raleigh

As part of our Substation Design Engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in the detailed engineering of cutting-edge projects including Air Insulated Substations, Gas Insulated Switchgear substations, Data Centers, and electrification initiatives.

A Snapshot of Your Day:

As a Design Engineer specializing in Substations, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle. From engineering documentation to construction and commissioning, your expertise will drive the success of our projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Engineering Excellence: Prepare, review, and modify detailed engineering documentation and drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Design Innovation: Develop switchgear and control room layouts, and create High Voltage and Medium Voltage substation layouts to optimize project proposals and execution.
• Technical Expertise: Perform critical calculations such as cable ampacity, grounding, and illumination, and create equipment specifications and bill of materials.
• Project Leadership: Manage stakeholder relationships, including customers, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring seamless project delivery.
• Risk Management: Identify project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and monitor engineering progress to meet deadlines and quality standards.

What You Bring:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in substation projects; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, familiarity with ANSI and IEC standards, and strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in utility power projects is advantageous.
