Electrical Controls Engineer

Job Description

Qualified Candidates must have the following:

• 4 years’ Experience designing electrical control systems for industrial machinery.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and preferable AutoCAD ELECTRICAL software (or its predecessors) for creating electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
• Proficient with Microsoft office software, particularly Word and Excel for creating documents necessary for the system design and communicating with the customer design team.
• Detail oriented and knowledgeable in standard wiring and control system design practices.
• Self-motivated, able to work equally well independently, or in a team environment.
• Candidate must have good communication skills, and must be able to communicate on a technical level with customers.
  
  

Experience in the following areas would be considered a plus: programming PLC’s; programming servo or stepper controls; AC and DC drives; Metals or Wire Rolling industries experience.

Responsibilities will include panel and control enclosure layouts, including hole cutouts, using AutoCAD. Electrical wiring and PLC I/O interconnect wiring drawings using AutoCAD.

Requirements

Candidate should have a minimum two-year electrical engineering degree or equivalent system design experience.

Some travel required 25% - up to 3 weeks at a time on occasion.
