Our client, a global Architecture and Design Firm, is hiring an Electric Utility Cad Drafter / Cad Technician to join their Design team in Houston TX.
Currently looking for an AutoCAD Technician to join their Distribution Modernization team out of Houston. Need to be proficient in AutoCAD - with 1 - 3 years of experience.
The CAD Technician is responsible for revising existing Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution and Substation drawings and preparing new drawings of basic components from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketches.
This position successfully plots drawings; learns and follows company and client drafting standards and procedures; and learns the practices of a selected discipline.
The individual for this role will produce high-quality drawings for the team while following the quality procurement process and must be highly detail-oriented.
Requirements:
Must have:
Experience with AutoCAD software and Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, Substation or related utility work.
Preferred:
Any Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor are a plus.
An Associate's degree in computer-aided drafting and design is desirable.
Entry-level position (up to THREE years of professional drafting experience).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and also manage different tasks for different projects at the same time when needed.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Previous internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Mastered basic commands of Auto CAD/Inventor (ability to occasionally use higher-level commands, time-saving programs, and routines).
In addition, the chosen candidate must be able to adapt to new client's standards and willing to learn new programs such as (Civil 3D, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD Electrical among others depending on the needs of the client).
Candidate must perform at a high level when it comes to quality while adapting fast to clients.
Knowledge of other programs would be a big plus for the position.
