Overview: As an EHS Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing environmental, health, and safety initiatives at our manufacturing site in San Antonio, Texas. Collaborating closely with various departments, you will ensure compliance with regulations, drive the implementation of safety programs, and foster a culture of safety excellence. This role requires strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and the ability to drive change within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach site operations leaders to establish a culture of safety excellence, implement safety policies and procedures, and drive incident prevention strategies.
• Lead the review, update, and implementation of the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Management System to effectively manage the site's EHS responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with local EHS regulations and company standards, including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001.
• Serve as the technical expert and drive the implementation of EHS software systems to support compliance activities and track/report EHS performance metrics.
• Facilitate training sessions to ensure employees have the knowledge and skills to work safely and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Lead investigations of high-risk incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Manage the site's environmental program, including permits, waste management, and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with Human Resources and Operations teams on fitness for duty evaluations and return-to-work programs.
• Work with external insurance firms to identify and manage loss prevention issues and ensure EHS considerations in capital projects.
• Supervise EHS consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline related to environmental, health, and safety.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in EHS, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge and regulatory expertise in EHS requirements and industry standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and foster a culture of safety excellence.
• Proficiency in EHS software systems and data analysis tools.
• Solid work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in the English language is required.
