POSITION SUMMARY

The primary function of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Investigator and Fact-Finding Investigator is to deliver an optimal experience to all clients and conduct thorough and impartial investigations in the workplace. The EEO Investigator shall employ technical precision and expertise, ensure quality and risk mitigation, protect Sensitive and Personal Identifiable Information (S/PII), ensure timely submission of Investigative Plans (IPs) and Reports of Investigation (ROIs), use MD-110, policies, processes, procedures, and systems to ensure timely interviews, collections of documents, and ensure reports are managed in a secure, private, and confidential manner.


Responsibilities

  • EEO Investigator (formal complaints) and Fact-Finding Investigator (informal workplace complaints) investigates all accepted discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints cases.
  • Conduct EEO and fact-finding investigations to include preparation of Investigative Plans (IPs), document requests; interview complainants, management officials, and witnesses; compile, review, and analyze statistical data; develop and write Report of Investigations (ROIs); and when appropriate or required, provide high level information pertaining to resolution of complainant concerns to the client point of contact(s).
  • Provide updates and prepare and submit weekly status reports to assigned program manager.
  • Conduct telephonic, in-person, video interviews, or prepare interrogatories.
  • Proactively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with client case managers and investigators.
  • Spellcheck, proofread, and edit, draft and final reports and prepare case files in accordance with EEOC MD-110, client, and HR Anew requirements; then submit the draft or final report of investigation to the assigned HR Anew Program Manager for quality review.
  • May perform final agency decisions (if experienced).
  • May perform EEO counseling and/or mediation/ADR (if certified and experienced).
  • May perform Title IX investigations (if experienced).
  • May facilitate Title VII, Diversity, and Inclusion, and related training (if experienced).
  • Establish priorities, be organized, and meet or exceed timelines.
  • Review and respond to all emails received the same business day or within 24 business hours.
  • Manage private, sensitive, and confidential matters.
  • Function in a high performing environment, as part of a team and individually.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Resource Management, Business, Legal, Political Science, English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field is highly required. An advanced degree such as an MBA or JD is a plus. Consideration may be given for equivalent and highly applicable work experience.
  • 32 Hours EEO and 8-Hours EEO Refresher certifications in accordance with MD-110 required.
  • Human Resources (HR), employee relations, or employment paralegal experience is a definite plus.
  • Can successfully complete a federal or state background investigation to receive a security clearance.
  • Minimum of 3 years EEO Investigator, Fact-Finding Investigator, Title IX Investigator, or EEO Counselor federal government or higher education experience is essential. State government and private sector related experience may be considered.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of Title VII or Title IX related laws, rules, and regulations to provide comprehensive analysis of case assignments.
  • Advanced to expert experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and other related systems used to perform work assignments.
