- Educational Diagnostician Certificate
- Master’s Degree

School Climate
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates effective communication with administration, teachers, staff, students, parents and community
- Actively supports the efforts of others to achieve district goals and objectives and the campus performance objectives (academic excellence indicators)
- Monitors the student achievement data and interprets, reports, and acts on results
- Plans, implements, and evaluates instructional programs with teachers and principals, including learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques
- Accepts referrals for pupil appraisal and special assignments from supervisors
- Selects and administers appropriate diagnostic instruments and techniques and organizes appraisal data into an educational plan
- Prepares and submits report of appraisal results to appropriate supervisor and administrator
- Serves as a member of the Admission, Review and Dismissal Committee; attends meetings to provide appraisal findings
- Serves as liaison between the Special Education Department and schools assigned
- Coordinates with other professionals and agencies on matters pertaining to providing services to the student
- Assists special education and/or campus staff, as appropriate, in securing resources to work with students tested
- Implements the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy in the area(s) supervised
- Defines the program needs in the budget development process
- Recommends appropriate student management techniques to be included in the t tested student’s Individual Educational Plan
- Seeks, accepts, and responds to evaluative feedback from colleagues and utilizes such information to improve performance
- Keeps abreast with the profession through participating in a variety of professional development activities (e.g., professional journals, using audio/video tapes, attending workshops and conferences)
- Serves as liaison between the campus/district and community resources in getting help for children with special needs
- Observes professional and ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Education.
