Reports to the Center Director and is a salaried, exempt position. Responsible for processing and coordinating the Education & Training Services function. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and abides by Eckerd Connects Core Values and operating principles.
  • Adheres to all aspects of Covenant Learning Solution’s (CLS) Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Supervises Education and Training Managers and General Clerk and other staff as assigned.
  • Ensures that all Outcomes Measurement Standards (OMS) directly under management are met and in compliance with the goals of the National Office of Job Corps.
  • Reviews weekly, monthly, and annual reports and verifies accuracy. Screens and monitors placement information. Evaluates performance of staff.
  • Establishes and maintains close communication with the Center Director and administrative staff.
  • Secures job leads, assists in relocation activities.
  • Coordinates Job Fair, Career Days, Guest Speaks, Professional Development and Military Days.
  • Assists in preparation of and maintains department budget.
  • Ensures that Education and Training areas have adequate supplies and equipment and are clean and up to Industry Standards.
  • Projects statistical information and establishes upcoming year goals.
  • Evaluates and seeks trends in relation to labor market information.
  • Develops Comprehensive Plan on a yearly basis.
  • Assists in the coordination of linkages and leads. Visits agencies, business, and other job-related resources.
  • Provides orientation regarding Job Corps to external resources.
  • Keeps staff informed regarding changes in the program.
  • Trains and cross-trains staff.
  • Attends training seminars and conferences to keep abreast of changes and trends.
  • Promotes activities geared toward employability. Assists in job development activities.
  • Monitors statistical reports to evaluate and assess weaknesses and strengths and works with Eckerd corporate office on implementation of strategies.
  • Ensures case documentation is up-to-date and available for Department of Labor and Corporate audits.
  • Chairs, organizes, and tracks student Performance Evaluation Panels as needed.
  • Ensures departmental equal employment and affirmative action goals and objectives are met.
  • Interviews and selects staff promptly. Prepares and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Assesses personnel needs and works with the Human Resources department to screen and interview potential staff. Recommends promotions, transfers, and merit evaluations within the department. Conducts and prepares performance appraisals.
  • Supports Student Proficiency in the Career Success Standards
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Cultivates and maintains a Campus climate that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Reviews and updates as necessary SOP’s
  • Completes required staff training and ensures all Education and Training staff meet yearly Professional Development Requirement as per the Policy Requirement Handbook (PRH)
  • Encourage participation in Student Experience Survey (SEA)
  • Conducts formal classroom and shop observations regularly and documents.
  • Coordinate Workforce Council with CTT Manager (Required 2 times per year)
  • Ensure compliance with CTST (Annual Plan) & Submit Progress Report December and June
  • Conducts Case Note Audits
  • Responds to Department of Labor (DOL) and/or Corporate Assessments as necessary.
  • Conduct Monthly Collaboration Meeting with Education and Training Department to provide opportunities for contextualized learning.
  • Performs WBL oversight and coordination.
  • Ensure all CTT and Academic Instructors deliver accommodations in the classroom when necessary.
  • Oversee online learning platforms in the classrooms and maximize the utilization as it relates to subject matter.
  • Ability to navigate the Microsoft Suite of Applications at a high level.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or work-related field required.
  • Two years of experience, one year in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Job Corps experience preferred.
  • High level of communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency.
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle several projects simultaneously with decision-making, flexibility, and problem-solving.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.

Additional Requirements: Sound knowledge of counseling, education and career training including employment counseling, and supervisory techniques. Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with the trainee population. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Good organizational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate staff. Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.

Pay starting at $17.20 per hour
