Job Description
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking an Education Aide to join the team at the Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI). This is a full-time position with HHS with strong opportunity for advancement, growth, and development.
The successful candidate for this position primarily performs paraprofessional technical work in the IMHI School for hospital patients as prescribed by an inter-disciplinary treatment team, Educators, or Education Administrator. You will provide support for academic programming, secretarial needs, technology needs, general organizational support, and daily data collection to meet required reporting for DOE/HHS funding. Duties provide support for the school administrator, education staff, and students.

IMHI is in Independence, Iowa, a city of approximately 6,000, located in scenic Northeast Iowa. Minimum Qualification Requirements
Experience equal to one year of full-time work as an aide in a treatment or habilitative program for the intellectually disabled, emotionally disturbed, physically handicapped, or mentally ill or as an aide in an educational or child care setting;
OR
any equivalent combination of the required experience and post high school education may be substituted on the basis that 30 semester hours or equivalent equals one year of experience.

Designated positions in this job class require applicants to obtain the required Chauffeur's License and endorsements within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority at the time of hire.
