Our ideal candidate will be a fast but thoughtful reader with a passion for books and for innovation, a curious self-starter who works well independently but also thrives in a collaborative team environment. Time management, devotion to follow-through, confidence in communication, and top-notch organizational skills are a must. Strong writing skills are essential. What You'll Do
Coordinate all aspects of two editors’ high-volume, fast-paced desks
Read and evaluate book proposals and manuscripts on submission
Write editorial and marketing copy and help prepare materials for in-house presentations
Track and help manage manuscripts through the production process
Act as a liaison between editorial and production, design, marketing, publicity and sales departments
Initiate and respond to correspondence with authors and agents at all stages of the publishing process
Offer editorial input on manuscripts

Ideal Experience
Prior publishing experience preferred but not required
Work in an office and/or a fast-paced environment
Independent projects from inception to completion
Foreign language proficiency (primarily reading) a plus but not required
This role will have an annual salary of $47,500.
