Economist/Refinery Model Owner

PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are a growing organization seeking a talented Refinery Economi to join our team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Chalmette Refinery in Chalmette, LA.

Job Summary

The Refinery Economist is responsible for ensuring the site’s Linear Program accurately reflects the refinery’s operations such that it is effective in generating the run plan and crude purchase signals. Additionally, the Refinery Economist supports the Economics & Planning Department with various activities as an experienced leader.

Principle Responsibilities

• Maintains the site’s Linear Program and ensures accuracy of data
• Coordinates w/ Technical and Operations to validate and improve the model
• Performs hindsight analysis to determine potential opportunities for improvement
• Generates weekly economics to support the refinery run plan and monthly crude purchasing decisions
• Develops the volumes (charge/yield) for the site business plan on an annual basis
• Assists in the development of economics/incentives for various site projects and other evaluations
• Ensures quality in monthly Refinery Operating Plan (ROP)
• Prepares monthly and quarterly stewardship reports
• Assists E&P Manager w/ other reports (Operating Contribution Report, etc.)
• Backfill for other E&P Coordinators when required.
  
  

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering required
• 7+ years of Refining/Economics/Coordination experience required
• Additional experience/skills in Excel & clear communication
