eCommerce Category Merchant Assistant

Summary

The eCommerce Category Merchant Assistant is part of a fast-paced, cross-functional team responsible for delivering a best in class eCommerce experience for JOANN. This position is accountable for pricing promotions on site, filling out briefs and links for marketing campaigns. Understanding of eCommerce and thinking customer first is key for this role. This is someone who is motivated by challenges and able to think independently and reach key deadlines for product pricing. This individual will also get visibility and training to retail data and have a presence within category teams. Serves as the assistant to the ecommerce point person for designated merchandising teams ( DMM, Buyers). Ensures we are bringing the instore experience alive on site, with the best digital practices.

• Executes the online promotional pricing on site. Execution includes both setup and proofing of all promotions and coupons. Analyzes data and other information to be reactive and proactive in achieving metrics. 40%
• Translate in-store merchandising strategies into optimal website experiences with the assistance of the Ecommerce Merchant. This will include product setup, attribution, overall customer experience, and product content. 35%
• Setup and tests direct vendor shipping for new vendors on-site. The setup includes only exclusive products and instore vendor relationships. 20%
• Understand eCommerce customer behavior through web analytics. Stay current on trends among direct competitors and best-in-class eCommerce sites. 5%
  
  

Education

Minimum: Bachelors Degree

Experience

Minimum: 2+ years of retail experience in eCommerce, Merchandising or Marketing with 1+ years in eCommerce, Digital or Omni-Channel

Preferred: Experience with eCommerce software applications (such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud)
