The Driver is responsible for interacting in a courteous and friendly manner with guests, residents, and staff. They also assist with transporting residents within and outside the community.
Drives vehicle from community area to destination according to assigned schedule.
Assists disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during the trip.
Operates radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Meets all Department of Transportation requirements.
Educational Requirements and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Texas driver’s license and automobile liability insurance required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a senior living setting.
Ability to communicate effectively, speaking the primary language of the residents.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, road signs, and procedure manuals.

Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Expresses or demonstrates an interest in working with a senior population.
