Job Description

We are seeking an experienced director/VP of biology and pharmacology to lead the in vitro and in vivo characterization of novel small molecules to support a growing pipeline. The successful candidate will be a confident leader with prior success in translational drug development in oncology and/or immunology. As the leader of Biology, you will join a dynamic team of scientists and assume a leadership role in advancing small molecule drug discovery programs in the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s discovery biology and pharmacology strategy.
• Direct the in vitro characterization efforts of pipeline program compounds.
• Direct preclinical in vivo efforts to characterize the activity and PK/PD properties of pipeline program compounds from discovery to IND-enabling studies.
• Build and lead a high-performing group of talented scientists.
• Work closely with the company’s SAB and other key stakeholders to advance our pipeline programs.
• Author or contribute to study reports, regulatory submissions, and abstracts/manuscripts for publication.
  
  

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related discipline with at least 8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Successful track record leading drug discovery programs by leveraging industry-standard models and tools.
• Scientific leadership experience coordinating research teams (external academic, CRO, internal) working concurrently on multiple projects.
• Experience in oncology and/or immunology.
• Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic startup environment.
