Director, Video Gaming

Overview /Objective

The Director, Video Gaming position is a key member of the Video Gaming group on the Consumer Products team and supports the Vice President, Video Gaming to implement the League’s portfolio strategy as the licensing account lead for the Youth & Casual video gaming category. In this position, the Director will ensure all brand representation and product marketing activities are aligned with NFL objectives and guidelines. Responsibilities include account management, product lifecycle management, asset review/compliance and reporting/analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Manage partner accounts in the Youth & Casual video gaming category to optimize revenue and engagement objectives.
  • Liaise with partners and internal teams to approve product design, production and marketing collaterals for products under license to ensure all partner accounts are in compliance with their respective grant of rights and that production and marketing timelines are met.
  • Identify and size emerging opportunities to ultimately develop outreach strategies and negotiate commercial terms for outbound licensing of new Youth & Casual products across fully branded video games and crossover IP collaborations.
  • Ensure that weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports are received from licensees on time and that all requested information is being provided. Regularly compile physical & digital sales data to develop pacing analyses and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with brand sponsors and internal stakeholders drive incremental in-game and on-site activations.
  • Continually evaluate tools, technology and processes to identify new business efficiencies.
  • Provide gaming industry analysis from time to time leveraging both internal and external insights resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Able to demonstrate a consistent record of contributing to large-scale shipped products for major IP franchises.
  • Strong project/product management skills needed to understand business strategy and technology with the ability to influence, collaborate and bring internal and external stakeholders to success.
  • Excellent understanding of video game development and the QC process, tools, and practices.
  • Experience launching video game products across the spectrum of traditional platforms and emerging product categories.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with the flexibility to support an environment where details can change quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years experience with 5 years management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge within Consumer Products as a licensor or licensee of branded IP across sports, music or entertainment with prior history bringing digital/interactive products to market.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and performance reports to identify and reconcile anomalies.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • Exempt / 40 hours per week. Will occasionally require overtime and/or work on weekends.

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary

$115,000 — $140,000 USD
