Overview / Objective
Responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operational procedures of the Commercial Traffic department, including log scheduling, program formats, brand assignments and copy instructions. Work closely with Advertising Sales, Network Promotions, Programming and Operations to ensure the accuracy of the on-air product. Also responsible for managing the Network integrated software system, including maintaining user security, troubleshooting system issues, and testing and coordinating upgrades.

$185,000 — $235,000 USD

Work closely with Advertising Sales, Network Promotions, Programming and Operations to ensure the accuracy of the on-air product. Also responsible for managing the Network integrated software system, including maintaining user security, troubleshooting system issues, and testing and coordinating upgrades.
Responsibilities
Commercial Traffic
- Responsible for the oversight of the Commercial Traffic department, including establishing/modifying processes and procedures, running point on special projects, and the direct management of the Commercial Traffic staff.
- Analyze inventory capacity and ensure maximization of Advertising revenue through the strategic utilization of commercial and promotional inventory.
- Review Advertising Sales deals and ensure they are effectively trafficked in accordance with the deal parameters.
- Ensure that all commercial creative information received from the Sales Department and Advertising Agencies is analyzed, adhered to, and properly inserted into the commercial log.
- Establish on-air guidelines in accordance with requirements/restrictions of each advertiser or event.
- Maintain communication with Advertising Sales, Programming, Production and Operations to coordinate information/resolve problems affecting the on-air look of the Network.
- Establish operational policies and deadlines. Enforce and modify, as necessary.
- Oversee the daily retrieval and reconciliation of post-air logs and communicate with Sales regarding discrepancies.
- Oversee the reconciliation of Ancillary networks.
- Develop new program formats as needed and communicate formats to various departments.
- Develop and modify business processes to ensure data integrity and to limit network liability.
- Analyze system data and output to ensure accuracy.
- Work with internal and external auditors as required.
- Maintain the System Administration within the Network software database.
- Establish and maintain users and component access/security within the database.
- Maintain/modify the system settings, database mappings and network properties related to the set-up and proper functioning of the database. Make adjustments when necessary. properties when necessary.
- Troubleshoot database error messages and user problems.
- Coordinate training and support for database users.
- Coordinate with the software provider regarding database faults/bugs and potential fixes.
- Coordinate with the software provider regarding system enhancements, updates, or modifications.
- Review product enhancement/upgrade documentation. Report to Management regarding recommended implementation timelines and strategies.
- Test all enhancements/upgrades prior to implementation in the Network’s “Live” environment.
- Coordinate implementation of new modules, networks, interfaces, or custom developments necessary for the Network to operate effectively.
- BS/BA degree required.
- 10+ years media experience
- Proficient in Wide Orbit Network, Wide Orbit Program and PC computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of Sales, Research, Commercial Traffic, Programming and Finance in the television/cable industry.
- Ability to analyze data and identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
- Effectively manage issues and relationships and provide calm, clear direction under stressful situations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week
- This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
