Job Overview:

The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for directing the planning, design, implementation, and administration of the organization’s compensation, benefits, wellness, and employee health programs.


Key Responsibilities:

Compensation:

  • Regularly evaluate roles to ensure proper FLSA classifications, job level assignments, and job family alignment.
  • Manage job leveling structure and tools to ensure long-term scalable solutions.
  • Oversee the review and effectiveness of company compensation and benefit practices, programs, policies, and guidelines.
  • Analyze compensation structures of acquisition targets and propose necessary adjustments and packages.


Benefits:

  • Oversee the review and effectiveness of company wellness and employee health practices, programs, policies, and guidelines.
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, life insurance, 401k, wellness, and other ancillary benefits and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and effective support to employees from the benefits team.


Total Rewards:

  • Collaborate with HR business partners to advise and influence business leaders on implementing total rewards strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Maintain awareness of global market data and drive programs to ensure market competitiveness. Continuously assess and upgrade total rewards offerings as needed.


Analytics & Reporting:

  • Develop analytics, metrics, and dashboards around rewards programs to evaluate their effectiveness and inform future program direction.
  • Research and analyze trends affecting pay and benefits to improve organizational practices.
  • Manage all internal and external reporting related to total rewards programs.


Budgeting:

  • Prepare, manage, and adhere to the department budget to maintain expenditure controls.
  • Partner with finance to budget for any benefit enhancements.


Leadership:

  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships within the organization (e.g., finance, payroll, legal).
  • Work through complex challenges to achieve resolutions and maintain compliance.
  • Supervise and develop a Total Rewards team of 2 employees, providing direction and managing performance to meet company goals.


Other HR duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience managing total rewards functions, including compensation, benefits, and employee rewards programs.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker around total rewards.
  • Knowledge of pay transparency requirements.
  • Understanding of legislation governing benefit plans (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, GDPR), as well as applicable state and federal employment laws.
  • Strong business and financial acumen to identify and implement cost-effective programs.
  • Advanced problem-solving, process improvement, and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with all organizational levels is required.
  • Preferred experience in various HR core functions such as recruitment, total rewards, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required, along with HRIS knowledge.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
