A Brief Overview

The Director Talent Development is responsible for the development strategy to support Safelite's most valuable assets, our people. This role will partner with people business partners, the global team and business leaders to develop and implement innovative, simple, high impact development strategies and processes that enable outstanding organizational, team, associate and business performance. This role reports into the AVP of Talent & Development and has a team of two associates.


What You Will Do

  • In collaboration with key stakeholder such as business partners and leaders, develops and maintains development programming enterprise-wide tied to competency-based development
  • Project manages a variety of programs for the enterprise simultaneously, and leverages the ADDIE process to execute and own the development of programs from assessment through implementation and evaluation
  • Strategize and support ongoing road mapping of Safelite’s development programs and solutions to support Safelite’s evolving business needs and growth objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of talent and development programs and implement changes as necessary to evaluate the impact and success
  • Lead, inspire and manage the development team including: hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, development and succession planning of talent.
  • Stay current on talent and development practices, trends and technology; ensure team stays relevant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards


What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in human resources, learning and development, and/or developing programs
  • 10+ years experience in Human Resources, talent management or leadership development
  • 5+ years experience in a leadership role leading high-performing teams
  • Subject matter expert who creates talent management and development strategies that directly align with and support overall business strategies.
  • Sound understanding and practical application of talent management methodologies.
  • Ability to establish trusting relationships with People Business Partner, global partners and key business leaders
  • Ability to assess talent metrics and determine opportunities and solutions
  • Experience in developing change management plans to support talent management initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, including demonstrated facilitation skills and consultative and collaboration skills with the ability to recommend and persuade audiences
  • Skilled at managing multiple work streams and in focusing/editing priorities and setting clear expectations for the team.
  • Self-aware; adjusts style to audience; asks for feedback often.
  • Embraces complexity and navigates ambiguity, leveraging curiosity to gain clarity and path forward
  • Motivated by challenge; can deliver results in first-time or tough situations; is resourceful
  • Is open-minded and understands the importance of leveraging others unique experiences and skills to accomplish goals.
  • Continuously explores new options and solutions; enjoys leading change efforts.
