Overview
The Director of Supply Chain reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is a senior leader with expertise in operational, tactical, and strategic facets of a global supply chain. This role requires a proven leader who can build and enable effective teams and adapt easily to a rapidly changing environment. You will be a collaborative business liaison with outstanding client and supplier relationship management skills, skilled in complex contract negotiations, process improvement, and relationship management (internal and external).
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Manage a team of supply chain professionals, ensuring target inventory levels and customer service metrics are consistently achieved.
Optimization: Improve the flow of goods from suppliers to manufacturing and from manufacturing to customers through segmentation, maximized planning, and lean principles.
New Product Launch: Assist in launching new products on time by collaborating cross-functionally and using a design-to-value approach that integrates consumer needs, competitive intelligence, and supplier insights.
Reporting and Metrics: Coordinate supply chain management reporting and track supply chain KPIs.
Innovation: Evaluate and build manufacturing networks that are flexible, responsive, innovative, and resilient.
Process Improvement: Identify, evaluate, define, test, and implement systems, processes, and reporting improvements for the supply planning function to minimize cost, material, demand, and exchange rate volatility.
Training and Development: Lead meetings and training events to enhance productivity, improve employee effectiveness, and achieve business objectives such as inventory reduction, increased unit fill rate, and improved reporting accuracy.
Strategic Projects: Support acquisition or divestiture activities and assist with reporting and budgeting initiatives.
Contract Management: Understand and interpret contract language and requirements.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or a related business field (MBA preferred). Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification strongly preferred.
Experience: At least 8 years in the pharma, life sciences, or capital equipment environment, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
