Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and execution-focused Director of Sales Operations to drive efficiency and consistency within our Government Solutions Commercial team. The ideal candidate will excel in both strategic and detail-oriented tasks, with a proven track record of optimizing forecasting and sales processes, partnering with field sales teams, implementing Salesforce strategies, and implementing effective territory and account planning. This role reports directly to the SVP of Commercial.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Sales Metrics & Reporting: Create, monitor, and analyze various sales metrics and reports. Enhance existing reporting capabilities, including pipeline reporting and data visualization.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Manages sales forecasting and planning in partnership with sales leadership and finance. Implement effective region, budget, and quota planning.
  • Technology Solutions: Support the management and consistent use of various technology solutions, with an emphasis on CRM implementation and adoption.
  • Operational Excellence: Optimize the sales function through consistent processes, sales playbooks, and standardized policies.
  • Sales Enablement: Drives various sales enablement initiatives, such as delivering sales training sessions focused on sales content, workflow and knowledge base management to the Sales and Account Management teams. Develop new sales hire onboarding programs.
  • Change Management: Act as a change agent to the business to ensure buy-in and adaptation of streamlined processes and manage effective communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sales Compensation Planning: Oversee, manage, and implement sales compensation plans. Identify and report on various compensation metrics.
  • Sales Team Capacity & Coverage: Evaluate and manage the capacity of the sales team, provide recommendations on adequate coverage and resource allocation.
  • Customer Success: Collaborate with the Customer Success team to ensure alignment of sales processes and sales tools (e.g. Salesforce) with customer retention and satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a sales and/or commercial operations role
  • Proven experience administering sales operations at a Fortune 500 company
  • Experience with government sales and contracting preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales and Service cloud products
  • Proven experience implementing new functions and/or programs
  • Experience creating new business processes for sales methodologies
