Director Sales Event
DevNetwork produces the world’s leading software developer & technology conferences, attracting over 50,000 in-person and virtual/online attendees each year to our annual program. Our events include DeveloperWeek, API World, ProductWorld, AI DevWorld, AI DevSummit, DeveloperWeek Management, DevOps & Scalability, CloudX, and more. In addition, we produce co-located recruiting events, tech innovation competitions and hackathons, and multiple industry awards programs. DevNetwork has been in business for over 12 years and maintains a cutting-edge, innovative work culture.
We are seeking a Director of Sales to manage all exhibitor, sponsorship, and media sales for our portfolio of tech industry events. You’ll be responsible for driving growth in DevNetwork's primary revenue stream – expanding our current sponsor and exhibitor customer base of over 200 accounts, and building new relationships in emerging industry verticals such as machine learning, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and XR/VR technologies. This position reports directly to the CEO.
Key responsibilities:
- Acquiring, managing, and fulfilling the entire sales process for current and new accounts
- Managing sales development representatives, account managers, and sales contractors
- Recommending appropriate compensation structures for the sales and sales support teams
- All account management, tracking, forecasting, and reporting systems within sales
- Identifying new event, media, and marketing opportunities within the technology marketplace
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- 3+ years of experience in trade show, conference, and/or media sales, with a proven track record of success
- Proficiency with Salesforce: Pipeline management, reporting, and integration with 3rd party applications
- Previous experience managing sales teams, allocating accounts, and qualifying leads
- Previous experience meeting & exceeding monthly and annual sales goals & KPIs, managing sales plans, market/landscape intelligence, account based sales (ABS)
- Previous experience in the technology industry is desirable
- Proficiency with email management and email-merging software
- Familiarity with Sales Workflow Automation software

- Sponsorship revenue growth
- Per conference/event sales growth
- Improvement in multi-event sales
- Improvement in year-over-year repeat/renewal sales
- Improvement is average revenue per account
- Growth in numbers of active accounts
Other Opportunities
- Work with the CEO & Executive Producer on the development of new product and program offerings, such as new industry awards competitions, new conferences, gamification strategies, and new professional organization and committee initiatives
Compensation
- $150K - $200K on-target earnings
