Responsibilities

Essential –

  • Supervise and select housing staff, including supervisors, resident assistants, and clerical support staff.
  • Coordinate and direct campus activities including clubs, organizations, and intramurals.
  • Recruit and train sponsors of campus activities.
  • Establish and coordinate operations procedures for campus clubs, organizations, and activities.
  • Coordinate and evaluate training programming for all residential life employees.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate programming for campus residents including personal development programming, group life skills programming, and recreational programming.
  • Provide an annual review of residence hall programming and student activities.
  • Create publications for residents including a residence hall handbook.
  • Establish behavioral guidelines for residents consistent with college policies and procedures and implement established procedures.
  • Act as discipline officer for resident halls.
  • Establish screening procedures for prospective students.
  • Monitor financial reports of residence halls.
  • Design and implement revenue collection procedures.
  • Work with vendors on hardware standards and server based IT solutions.
  • Serve actively on campus committees.
  • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

Secondary –

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Student Services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in post-secondary educational programming is preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to supervise employees effectively is required.
  • Experience in student life programming is preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software, is preferred.
  • The ability to work effectively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff with diverse needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a student-centered environment.
  • Physical requirements include excellent verbal, written, and listen communication skills; excellent organizational skills; ability and willingness to collaborate; ability to work independently; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.

SALARY And STATUS

  • The rate of pay is commensurate with qualifications as determined by the HutchCC administration. This full-time administrative staff position is 12 months annual, benefit eligible, at-will, and non-exempt.
