With more than 38 courses in a variety of subject areas, we are committed to promoting innovation, equity, and excellence for generations of students.

The AP Content and Assessment Publications team develops a variety of publications from course descriptions to practice exams for teachers of the forty AP subject areas (comprising curricula in mathematics, arts, English, science, world languages, and social sciences) and resources related to the development of new AP courses. We are a close-knit, dedicated team with a track record of success in producing products and publications for a variety of audiences, including students, parents, educators, member organizations and staff.

About The Opportunity

As the Director, Product Development and Editorial, you will guide the launch of new and revised AP courses by shaping and managing various products and publications (e.g., Course and Exam Descriptions, Lab Manuals, Practice Exams). You will guide the content creation conducted by other team members, vendors and/or consultants as needed. You are a driving force in the team’s efforts to meet deadlines and refine processes. • Provide guidance on design and formatting of publications as needed; previous experience using Adobe InDesign is strongly preferred.
  • Develop standards and enforce consistency in instructional practice, structure, design and terminology

Project Management 50%:

  • Work with other teams across the AP division in developing requirements and resources to ensure alignment
  • Ensure all products are fair, bias-free, and in alignment with AP Course and Exam Descriptions (CEDs) and other relevant documents and standards
  • Assist in a variety of program management tasks related to AP publications and communications, including tracking and monitoring program publication budgets; coordinating program components with other departments/divisions/consultants; preparing reports and recommending adjustments in policies and procedures, and supporting efforts to continuously improve communications planning, content development, and production and distribution processes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitating meetings and presenting remotely and in-person
