What You’ll Do
The Director of Procurement will lead the design, implementation and enforcement of Ascent’s procurement strategy and related policies and procedures. This individual will be a champion of financial discipline within the organization, and will work closely with both internal and external constituents to ensure Ascent is receiving quality goods and services for the most advantageous price. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency
  • Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions
  • Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
  • Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement
  • Manage procurement-related internal tools and processes, including (but not limited to) purchase order (“PO”) system, travel & entertainment solution, office supplies purchasing program
  • Draft purchasing policy and related internal documentation to educate employees on proper purchasing protocol, and manage enforcement


What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of related experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to interpret contracts
  • Experience using enterprise software tools (experience with procurement software, such as Esker, preferred)
