We are looking to hire a Spirit-filled and led Youth Ministry Director to lead and guide our church's middle and high school students. The Youth Ministry Director will endeavor to help students understand the journey of their souls, encourage them to pursue God, desire to hear His voice, and develop a passionate walk, loving God and others.
Responsibilities:
- Providing the needed leadership, oversight, and preparation for all aspects of youth gatherings, care, and ministry to teens
- Train and recruit volunteers for efficient implementation of the Youth Ministry programs.
- Provide basic Bible-based counseling to students, helping them realize their individual and spiritual goals.
- Administer and plan youth events (i.e. evangelism, retreats, and Bible study sessions).
- Coordinate with parents of students regarding their children’s involvement and participation in the church.
- Participate and contribute to staff and church meetings.
- Train students on how to be faith-filled, and Spirit-led leaders and facilitate training to contribute to their spiritual and leadership growth.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with various leaders inside and outside the community for purposes of outreach as well as personal growth.
- Reach out to unchurched youth in the community and engage them with the gospel.
- Regularly teach the Bible to the students with conviction, compassion, and care.
- Continual development of personal skills that would contribute to job performance.
- Communicating and caring for leaders in the Youth Ministry Team, by following up with team members, and praying for them.
- Occasionally scheduling events to promote spiritual friendship, unity, and community.
Requirements:
- Proficient understanding of the challenges and needs of teens.
- Excellent computer skills, and proficiency with social media.
- Great communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Affinity for young people.
- Ability to lead by example.
- Previous youth ministry experience is an asset.
