The University of Southern California Leventhal School of Accounting is seeking applications for a full-time Director of Undergraduate Programs. Reporting to the Senior Administrator, the Director will lead the Undergraduate Programs team in supporting Leventhal’s top-ranked Bachelor of Science in Accounting (ACCT) and the Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (ACFN), a joint degree with the Marshall School of Business.

Responsibilities And Duties


  • Lead the Undergraduate Programs team, which consists of two Academic Advisors. Provide supervision, support the team’s efforts, and help promote an inclusive and efficient work environment. Address unique and/or challenging academic matters as it relates to students and/or faculty.
  • In consultation with the Dean of the Leventhal School, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, the Academic Director for the ACFN Program, and the Senior Administrator, design and execute a strategic plan that furthers the goals of the Undergraduate Programs and the Leventhal School. Gather and assess input from the team, Leventhal’s senior leadership, faculty, students, staff, and other constituents. Implement and update information systems to collect data to identify trends and develop objectives.
  • Partner with various entities to promote enrollment in Leventhal’s academic programs. This may include but not be limited to the USC and Marshall Undergraduate Admissions teams, the Leventhal Graduate Programs team, the Leventhal Operations team, local community colleges, etc.
  • Liaise with multiple groups (e.g., students, alumni, employers, Leventhal advisory board members, Marshall and University personnel, colleagues from other institutions, representatives from accounting and other professional associations) to stay current on issues, trends, concerns, initiatives, policies, processes, and technologies that impact undergraduate education, student wellbeing, and the accounting profession.
  • In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, the Academic Director for the ACFN Program other faculty, evaluate, update, and maintain curricula and class schedules that are in line with Leventhal’s mission. Partner with the Leventhal Operations Manager to build the class schedule for each semester. Monitor enrollments during registration period to assess new sections if and when necessary.
  • Report on the status of the Undergraduate Programs to the Leventhal Dean, faculty, Board of Councilors, Marshall, and other entities, and present information at faculty meetings, the annual Board of Councilors meetings, and other discussions.
  • In partnership with the Senior Administrator, develop a budget for the Undergraduate Programs. Monitor expenses and ensure the Undergraduate Programs team remains in compliance with all expense and reimbursement guidelines while prioritizing the needs of Leventhal’s undergraduate students, student organizations, and activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
  • Minimum Experience: 5 years
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Supervisory experience in student programs and services


Salary Range

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,770.45 - $114,978.51 . When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
