Director of Supply Chain

The Director of Supply Chain provides leadership and direction to the organization and is responsible for managing all processes associated with the Supply Chain for the company. This individual will play a key role in helping to build out the supply chain for the organization to include network design, transportation optimization and warehouse efficiencies. The Director will lead, facilitate, and drive changes necessary to implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives within a lean and fast-paced environment. Must leverage his / her strong interpersonal skills, apply continuous improvement knowledge, and utilize a “hands-on” approach while leading our efforts around elevating our supply chain. We will oversee and guide how we design and manage our overall supply chain network. This leader is a key partner to many corporate teams including, but not limited to Retail and Dining Operations, Business Systems & Transformation, Merchandising and IT. The Director will also be responsible for ensuring strong collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders and ensure that Communications to the Field from the Corporate Office are timely, organized, efficient and strategic.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all in-bound freight to include managing our routing guide and partnering with the merchandising team to identify and address any opportunities to drive efficiency with our vendors.
  • Responsible for managing all international inbound freight to include Customs and freight compliance.
  • Partner with field leadership and Asset Protection on the management and monitoring of local fleet to include DOT compliance.
  • Provide strategic vision of how to advance our supply chain to reduce costs as well as drive efficiencies.
  • Partner with the team to support the design, deployment, and ongoing process improvements for last mile replenishment utilizing SAP for both Divisions.
  • Establish the framework for monitoring and measuring key performance indicators to assess overall reporting performance for all locations.
  • Partner with the Director of Business Systems and Field Operations Leadership to Identify, design, and implement systems and best practices to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of our warehouse operations to include building design and Material handling equipment and process improvements.
  • Partner with Field Operations and procurement to manage our portfolio of warehouses to include site selection, building requirement and renewals.
  • Partner with Field Operations and Asset Protection on Warehouse design, Set-up and monitoring.
  • Participate in the company’s strategic planning process.
  • Regularly visit locations with field partners to understand what is working well and areas of opportunity for improvement across the supply chain.
  • Must be able to quickly estimate the size of an opportunity to ensure that we remain focused on the things that will produce the largest return first.
  • Work Closely with the Regional VPs of Operations for both divisions to understand their needs and the needs of their teams from a supply chain perspective.

Typical Skills And Knowledge

  • Convenience store Supply chain management a plus.
  • Excellent end-to-end project management skills.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience managing statistical & analytical reporting.
  • Prior experience building a supply chain and standing up a supply chain organization serving multiple Retail and Restaurant concepts.
  • Strong understanding of both Transportation and Warehouse management and the balance between the two to drive superior service levels at the optimal cost.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate with both corporate and field resources.

Position Qualifications

  • Legal Age: 18 Years
  • Education or Equivalent Experience: Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • Supervisory/Managerial Experience: 5 or more years of experience
  • Function: 10+ years Supply Chain experience,
  • Technical:
    • Prior experience with SAP.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, & MS Power BI experience preferred.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
  • Schedule: May require some nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Position is based in Atlanta
