Director of Student Accessibility Services

The Director of Accessibility Services is responsible for coordinating the delivery of accommodations and support services to students with a range of disabilities defined under the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act. The Director of Accessibility Services provides ongoing support and advocacy for all students with disabilities, both in and outside of the classroom. The Director is directly responsible for receiving and evaluating documentation to determine if it indicates and substantiates a condition that qualifies as a disability under applicable disability law and determine applicable disability support and reasonable accommodations. The position works closely with other offices including but not limited to Residential Life, Academic Support Services, online learning/instructional design, IT, Advising, Financial Aid and the Office of Multicultural Affairs. The Director is responsible for researching and remaining current on issues related to disability support services in postsecondary education settings along with on-going student, faculty and staff programming on topics related to accessibility. This position supervises the Accessibility Associate, test proctors, and note takers and manages relationships with applicable third-party vendors (such as interpreter services).
