Director, Strategy & Analytics

Summary

We are looking for someone with a scrappy, get-it-done attitude who is passionate about analyzing data to solve business problems and drive growth. This role sits within the Strategy & Analytics team and will primarily support the digital marketing team to unlock efficiency improvements across campaigns (Paid Search, Social, Display, Affiliates). It will include a heavy dose of exposure to senior management and candidates need a proven track record of distilling down complex data into actionable insights and crisply communicating them to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of the factors that drive digital marketing sales, cost, and ROI performance
  • Partner with digital marketing channel managers to explore growth and cost savings opportunities
  • Work with stakeholders and dive into complex data sets to hypothesize opportunities, create test plans, analyze results, summarize finds, and come up with recommendations
  • Be able to dig 2 to 3 layers deep to uncover insights that aren’t surface level
  • Effectively communicate analysis findings to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Lead the development of data visualization and dashboards to help the organization monitor performance, generate insights, and continuously improve profitability and user experience

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience working in eCommerce, specifically in digital marketing, with demonstrated career growth and momentum in influencing businesses
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, attribution fundamentals (last click, LTV, pixels), and DTC eCommerce funnel progression
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical, technical and problem solving skills
  • Proactive in taking initiative and driving projects to a conclusion
  • Hands on experience working with large and complex data – proficiency w/ SQL is a must.
  • Understanding of basic statistics (advanced statistics a plus)
  • Working knowledge of at least one analytic/statistical software package preferred (e.g. R)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive forward complex initiatives
  • Knowledge of sports helpful, but not required

This position will be located in our San Mateo, CA office working in a hybrid environment.

The expected salary range for this role is $188,000 - $200,000. This is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is also eligible for the Fanatics Commerce annual bonus program and an equity award. This salary range is listed in USD and will be determined in part by a successful candidate’s geographic location.
