We are searching for a driven Head of Software Engineering to spearhead the development and rapid deployment of their AI application technology. This role demands strong technical acumen, leadership prowess, and a proven ability to navigate complex challenges to deliver within an ambitious 6-month timeline.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the software engineering team in conceiving, architecting, testing, and launching the AI application, aligning closely with product specifications and strategic objectives.
- Drive innovation and technical excellence by implementing best practices in AI, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, regulatory affairs, and data science teams to integrate AI capabilities seamlessly into the regulatory approval workflow.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle, ensuring robustness, scalability, and security of the AI application.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Implement and uphold rigorous coding standards, documentation practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Oversee technical architecture decisions, leveraging cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for optimal performance.
Requirements:
- Extensive hands-on experience (8+ years) in software engineering, with a strong focus on AI and machine learning applications.
- Proficiency in Python programming language and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Expertise in deploying AI solutions at scale, utilizing cloud infrastructure and container orchestration tools.
- Solid understanding of regulatory processes, particularly in FDA clearance or related domains, is highly advantageous.
- Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams in agile environments, delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) preferred.
