  • A "Day in the Life" of the Director of Sales

As the Director of Sales, a typical day involves conducting one-on-one debriefs with team members, reviewing KPIs and performance metrics, strategizing on sales approaches, and collaborating with other departments to ensure client satisfaction. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing, and implementing sales strategies, and leading a team of highly skilled sales professionals. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and a passion for developing talent.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of seasoned sales representatives, providing guidance, motivation, and support
  • Conduct regular one-on-one debriefs with team members to review performance and provide coaching
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive sales performance and achieve targets
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics to grow market share and revenue
  • Create and execute sourcing plans to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients
  • Represent the company at industry events and build relationships with key stakeholders

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably in service or facility-related industries
  • Proven track record in managing and directing a highly skilled sales team
  • Experience leading a team of 7 or more direct reports
  • Strong sales leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance management
  • Ability to handle deadlines and competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Passion for a servant leader approach to sales leadership
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales performance management tools
