Director of Sales, Donna Karan, Handbags


Role Overview


The Director of Sales, Donna Karan handbags, is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market share. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, you will lead a team of sales professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.

Product Focus: Donna Karan, Handbags

Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District


Responsibilities:


  • Present and sell the collection to all major accounts.
  • Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets for achieving sales plans and gross margins for accounts
  • Oversee product assortments for each account using selling history and market trends and to ensure the brand image is represented properly.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship. Set clear objectives, provide ongoing coaching, and foster a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, develop strong relationships and communicate on weekly basis with buying offices.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and generate accurate sales forecasts and reports. Use insights to optimize sales strategies and resource allocation.
  • Prospect, maintain and re-evaluate door distribution on a seasonal basis.
  • Conduct store visits to monitor floor spaces and visual merchandising of deliveries.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, competitor activities, and emerging trends in the handbag market. Leverage insights to maintain a competitive edge and drive innovation.
  • Manage inventory and availability of merchandise and create opportunities to sell excess inventory.
  • Responsible for editing/merchandising and pricing collection with design, production and sales team prior to market
  • Prepare production buys and presenting buys to the VP for review and approval
  • Responsible account’s profitability managing markdowns, inventory and sale


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Wholesale Handbag background required. Strong understanding of the handbag market, including consumer preferences, competitor landscape, and distribution channels.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve sales goals.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical capabilities to assess market data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including retail partners and industry influencers.
  • Strong retail math knowledge


The pay range for this position is: $125K per year - $160 per year.
