Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Director of Sales. The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading the sales team and driving business. This includes overseeing sales operations, managing distribution partners, and developing new business opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategize and execute territory expansion, marketing support, budgets, sales forecasts by SKU, and distributors. Create vision, goals, strategies, objectives, and tactics.
  • Collaborate with senior management, marketing, and national accounts to communicate and execute against company strategic direction, priorities, and financial guardrails.
  • Establish and manage partnerships with DSD distributors and regional food brokers.
  • Establish and communicate a monthly volume and distribution plan to achieve overall objectives in the market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional activities with distribution and retail partners.
  • Manage key retailers: establish promotion calendars, new items, trade spend investment, post-promo analysis, and retail programs.
  • Provide category marketplace insights and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and product development, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns and merchandising strategies.
  • Accountable for cost containment, sales growth, revenue and profit growth.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Holistic sales skills to align to our strategic goals including:
  • Use of data and data-based story telling
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of sales experience in the CPG industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing key retail accounts.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop insights, and make strategic decisions.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of retail sales operations, market dynamics, and consumer behavior.
  • Deeply passionate about ROYO and inspired by what we represent. Has the desire and hunger to make an impact.
  • Obsession for understanding customer behavior: lives, breaths & dreams about how to better reach and understand our consumers.
  • Enthusiastic and comfortable working in an early stage company. Ability to think rapidly in a growing and changing environment.
  • Experience in the Natural Products Industry and relevant classes of trade with CPG selling background in (refrigerated/ambient/frozen) spaces highly preferred.
  • Established relationships and experience working with key retail accounts and multiple distributors across multiple channels.
  • Resourcefulness to improvise and adapt to deal with daily challenges via creative problem solving.
