The Director of Rooms at Arlo Chicago is responsible for overseeing all operations and activities related to the guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. This individual will use their leadership skills to oversee the front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance departments to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience. The Director of Rooms will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with other members of the hotel management team.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried position with a compensation package of $80,000 per year, paid biweekly. In addition to base salary, the Director of Rooms will also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which may include health insurance, paid time off, and hotel discounts.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance departments, ensuring all team members are properly trained and equipped to provide exceptional service to guests
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for all guest room supplies and amenities
Develop and implement strategies to increase guest satisfaction and improve operational efficiency
Create and maintain staffing schedules to ensure proper coverage and minimize labor costs
Ensure all guest rooms and public areas are clean, well-maintained, and in compliance with brand standards
Handle and resolve any guest complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure quality standards are being met
Work closely with other departments, such as sales and revenue management, to maximize room revenue and occupancy
Monitor and maintain budget and expenses for the rooms division
Attend and participate in various hotel and brand meetings and training sessions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in hotel operations, with a strong focus on rooms division
Knowledge of hotel front office, housekeeping, and maintenance operations
Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest service and maintaining high quality standards
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems
