About the position: As the Director of Rehab Services, you will be responsible for providing leadership to the Rehab Services Department (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Wellness Center) by demonstrating the knowledge, skills and learning ability necessary to be effective. Responsible for assessing department performance and then implementing actions to improve performance. Provide leadership to the department staff which includes assessing competency and then developing skills to improve effectiveness. Role also requires technical ability in chosen field to maintain quality service and regulatory standards.

Key Job Qualities/duties

  • Assesses and tracks performance of employees, discusses strategies for improvement and shares expectations for future performance. Completes performance evaluations on time. Coaches, trains, and develops employees, providing reinforcement and feedback. Delegates appropriately. Takes timely and appropriate corrective/disciplinary actions with employees. Communicates policies and procedures as well as importation organizational information. Assists HR in interviewing and hiring employees.
  • Plans, coordinates, supervises and guides activities of the department including staffing, setting goals and priorities, and meeting compliance and regulatory requirements. Continuously works to improve department performance. Acts as a team ember in improving organizational performance, working effectively interdepartmentally and assisting in change initiatives beneficial to the organization.
  • Manages, analyzes and utilizes financial information to maximize productivity, revenue and expenses. Prepares and manages annual budget including the capital budge.
  • Complies with all laws, The Joint Commission, OSHA and Health Department standards and safety requirements to maintain a safe work environment. Appropriately documents and follows up on incidents, employee work injuries, etc. to meet documentational and prevention requirements.
  • Ensures quality of department services to internal and external customers through quality programs; collecting customer feedback and working to improve service. Evaluates and utilizes operational and other data to improve the quality of the service provided. Sets an example by demonstrating a high level of customer service. Fosters an environment where customer service is a priority.
  • Evaluates the patient’s condition upon referral. Integrates data from a variety of assessment techniques to create a customized treatment plan including short term and long term goals.
  • Provides safe and effective therapy treatment incorporating physical, mental, social and emotional components to achieve improved quality of life and a sense of independence. Demonstrates the ability to apply accurate therapeutic principles and practices. Uses appropriate technical knowledge and clinical judgment in observing patient’s reactions to treatments.
  • Exhibits knowledge of and complies with state and federal regulations as they pertain to this position and department. Performs therapy treatment abiding to the laws, rules, and code of ethics state and federal regulations.

What qualifications are we looking for?

  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Ohio required.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
