Director of Real Estate Investments

Position: Director

Comp: 140-160K plus bonus

Experience and Duties:

Investment Management and Due Diligence:

• Find and evaluate real estate investment opportunities in the U.S.
• Use your network to identify top investment managers and stay updated on new investment trends.
• Conduct thorough reviews of potential investments, including strategy, structure, manager capabilities, track record, and risks.
• Meet with investment managers and visit properties to gather detailed information.

Investment Proposals:

• Create detailed reports and presentations based on your findings and recommendations and present these recommendations to the global investment committee.

Legal and Tax Coordination:

• Work with legal and tax advisors to negotiate favorable terms for new and existing investments.

Team Collaboration:

• Communicate and collaborate with the global team during the fund selection and portfolio construction process.
• Monitor the existing portfolio through regular reviews and meetings with managers.
• Support the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives across the portfolio.
• Industry Engagement and Team Management
• Attend investment conferences and seminars to promote company awareness and stay involved in the industry.
• Oversee and mentor junior team members and participate in the hiring process.

Experience/Qualifications:

• 8 plus years of experience in real estate, preferably at institutional investors (insurance companies, pension funds, endowments, Family Office etc.), investment consultants, investment managers, or private equity real estate firms.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Economics preferred. An MBA and/or CFA designation is highly desirable.
