Director of Project Management & Development

About the Company:

Our client, a leader in Hydrogen, RNG & SAF space, is looking to hire a Director of Project Management & Development for their office in Houston, TX.

About the Role:

This role will be responsible for leading the Project Development initiatives and spearheading the operations after setting up the company’s project in the Clean Hydrogen energy business. . More specifically, they are looking at the gasification of bio-waste as a feedstock to produce Hydrogen, RNG & SAF.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to define the strategic direction for project development for clean hydrogen projects.
• Develop project concepts, conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments.
• Establish project teams, roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures to ensure seamless transition from development to execution.
• Identify market trends, opportunities, and potential risks for project portfolio decisions.
• Allocate resources effectively to project development initiatives, considering personnel, budget, and technical support.
• Oversee procurement of resources within the approved scope and budgets.
• Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring their alignment with project goals and EPC activities.
• Monitor resources/vendor utilization and adjust as necessary for efficient project execution.
• Lead collaboration efforts with EPC contractors, PMC/Owner’s Engineer, and other vendors/consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
• Facilitate effective communication, coordination, and issue resolution with external partners and stakeholder management.

Skills Required:

• 10+ Years experience in Project management roles within petrochemicals or related industries.
• B.S / M.S in Engineering or a related specialism is required.
• Experience in gasification technologies, biomass to RNG/SAF conversion.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex petrochemicals projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, software/tools, and best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Experience in risk management, change management, stakeholder engagement, EPC collaboration, and vendor management.
• Experience regarding Permits is an asset.
• Proven Commercial experience, particularly in regard to off taking feedstocks.
• Experience understanding and evaluating regulatory tax credits.
