Essential Job Duties

  • Manage all product development activities undertaken by the product development team, driving execution of concept, technical design, sourcing, production, logistics, and quality control.
  • Provide daily leadership to the product development team.
  • Ensure that the product development team meets the needs of the organization.
  • Ensure on time delivery of quality product and targeted gross margins.
  • Monitor the development process from initial tech pack through commercialization to ensure on time delivery and the meeting of critical dates.
  • Create and manage product development and production calendars.
  • Set target costs and negotiate final costs with vendors.
  • Gross margin responsibility
  • Develop strategies and procedures to ensure products are developed consistently with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications.
  • Drive strategic direction and product plans for the brand.
  • Create and maintain all bulk purchase orders.
  • Maintain a bulk production work in process spreadsheet daily, that will be shared with all departments.
  • Communicate with suppliers honestly to update on any bulk production issues.
  • Oversee vendor setup manufacturing/compliance agreements.
  • Manage/issue all vendor chargebacks.
  • Reconcile production shortage/damage claims.
  • Manage production rework projects.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Production and/or Product Development along with Management experience.
  • Experience leading a successful team.
  • Strong understanding of apparel construction and fabric development.
  • Exceptionally strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and improve processes.
